Adult Formation Ministries at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church is offering a forum titled "The Story and Soul of Ralph Waldo Emerson" by storyteller Ron Lancaster on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. in the East Gallery.

The lecture and discussion celebrate Emerson's 210th birthday. Learn the secrets of his life and writings.

Lancaster does not consider himself a scholar or expert on Emerson, but an Emerson lover.

Emerson, 1803-1882, was an American essayist, lecturer and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century.

He published and lectured prolifically, and his writings influenced not only his contemporaries but also thinkers and writers to the present.

The public is invited to this free event.

St. Philip's is at 4440 N. Campbell Avenue at River Road.

Parking is available in the north parking lot or under the shaded solar parking structure on the east side.

The office phone number is 299-6421.
