Tucson Country Day School rolled out the red carpet — literally — to welcome students back to school Aug. 7.

It’s the second year in a row the school welcomed students this way.

Students got star treatment from the teachers and staff at the kindergarten- through eighth-grade public charter school the moment they made their way on campus for the first day of school.

The school’s private preschool and prekindergarten teachers were there as well to greet their students.

The real red carpet walkway was rolled out from the parking lot sidewalk, through the school’s gate and into the campus.

Students were surprised as they became the stars “walking the red carpet” as they entered the school. Teachers and staff were the “fans,” standing on both sides of the red carpet applauding, giving high-fives and cheering for each student.

Tucson Country Day School is at 9239 E. Wrightstown Road. Call 296-0883 for more information.
