Tucson’s River of Words Youth Poetry and Art Traveling Exhibit is at Agua Caliente Park, 12325 E. Roger Road, through June 25. In the exhibit, local children express their understanding of watersheds and share their view of the natural world in this exhibition of poetry and mixed-media art. View the exhibit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays. Free. 615-7855.

2. June 14

Have cake and ice cream and stroll the grounds of the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun to celebrate Ted DeGrazia’s birth in the copper mining camp of Morenci on June 14, 1909. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the gallery, 6300 N. Swan Road. Free. 299-9191.

3. June 14

Sonoran Desert Kids Club: Jammin’ With Nature, for children ages 8-12, runs 9:30 a.m.-noon at Agua Caliente Park, 12325 E. Roger Road. Learn how animals communicate with their own species and other animals. Make music with instruments made of natural materials. Free. 615-7855.
