The Dusenberry-River Library, 5605 E. River Road, presents illustrated talks from 2 to 3 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month. This month’s topic is “Art and Soul,” exploring if art exists only for art’s sake, and why art should matter. The Arizona Balalaika Orchestra will perform a spring concert at the Kirk-Bear Canyon Library, 8959 E. Tanque Verde Road, from 3 to 4 p.m. Sixteen members of the orchestra will be playing, accompanied by Natalia Neazimbetova on vocals singing favorites such as “Korobushka” and “Those Were the Days.” The concert is sponsored by Friends of the Kirk-Bear Canyon Library. The Southern Arizona Women’s Chorus will present choral medleys from George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer, including standards from the Big Band and Swing era, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Catalina Foothills High School, 4300 E. Sunrise Drive. $15 in advance; $20 at the door. 404-3148.
