Search for garnets (sand rubies) in Sabino Creek from 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through April 24. Find out the exact location at the Visitor Center at Sabino Canyon, 5700 N. Sabino Canyon Road. Free; $5 parking. 749-8700.

2. Saturday

A reception for the exhibit “The Visionary: Vibrant Watercolors by Kathy Robbins” will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 at the Roy P. Drachman-Agua Caliente Park Gallery, 12325 E. Roger Road. The exhibit runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays through April 23. Free. 615-7855.

3. April 5

The Old Arizona Brass Band, re-enacting the 4th Cavalry Regimental Band, joins the 62nd Army Band from Fort Huachuca from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Lowell Museum, 2900 N. Craycroft Road. The museum will be open and food trucks will be selling food. Free. 529-2807.

4. April 26

Members of Tanque Verde Lutheran Church are gearing up for an arts and crafts fair to benefit a youth group traveling to a Church Wide Youth Conclave in Detroit in 2015. The event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 8625 E. Tanque Verde Road. Free to attend. 749-1606.
