Summer Storytime is in full swing at the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center, 5900 N. Sabino Canyon Road. A trained naturalist will read a picture book, sometimes with a song or game and always with a craft. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Topics include the Hohokam culture, javelinas, spiders, coyotes, toads and monsoons. The program is free and runs 9-10:30 a.m. Thursdays through July 10. 749-8700.
It’s a bit out of the Foothills, but definitely worth the drive: Learn plant trivia, the history of the gardens and native flora, and about the wide variety of plants that grow in Tucson during the “Exploring Tucson Botanical Gardens Tour” from 9-10 a.m. Fridays at the Gardens, 2150 N.
