1. Tonight

The Sonoran Dogs concert at Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort, 5501 N. Hacienda del Sol Road, benefits the nonprofit Integrative Touch for Kids and features the local bluegrass band. Tickets $65, available at IntegrativeTouch.org online. Includes dinner and pre-concert reception with drinks. 6:30 p.m. 303-4992.

2. Thursdays

Summer Storytime is in full swing at the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center, 5900 N. Sabino Canyon Road. A trained naturalist will read a picture book, sometimes with a song or game and always with a craft. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Topics include the Hohokam culture, javelinas, spiders, coyotes, toads and monsoons. The program is free and runs 9-10:30 a.m. Thursdays through July 10. 749-8700.

3. Fridays

It’s a bit out of the Foothills, but definitely worth the drive: Learn plant trivia, the history of the gardens and native flora, and about the wide variety of plants that grow in Tucson during the “Exploring Tucson Botanical Gardens Tour” from 9-10 a.m. Fridays at the Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way. The program runs through Aug. 29, and is free with admission. $8 adults, $7 student/senior/military, $4 children 4-12, free for kids 3 and younger and members. 326-9686.
