The El Rio Community Health Center and Pima County Health Department will host four back-to-school immunization events within the next few weeks, starting today.
The vaccinations are for children ages 5-18 who need their shots for the upcoming school year, according to an El Rio news release.
The vaccinations are among a series of screenings and services the agencies will provide to school age children at the clinics.
El Rio's dental team will provide free screenings and fluoride varnish treatments, while the Lions Club will offer free vision screenings.
Tucson Medical Center will also give away a limited number of booster seats to qualified families.
The first 80 children at each event will receive a free backpack.
The vaccinations are free for families who have no health insurance, while those with health insurance will need to bring their insurance cards.
Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System providers and Pima County Access Program representatives will provide information on how to apply for those programs.
The vaccinations and screenings will take place at the following times and locations:
• 3 to 6 p.m. today at Steve Daru Clubhouse, 1375 N. El Rio Drive.
• 3 to 6 p.m. July 25 at Jim and Vicki Click Clubhouse, 1935 S. Columbus Blvd.
