Volunteers needed at Desert Ashram: Do you love to see living and working spaces clean and organized? The Desert Ashram meditation center needs help in several areas, including washing dishes and helping clean the site. This opportunity is available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, approximately 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers can come for a day or on a weekly or monthly basis. Due to the monastic nature of the area in which this work will be done, only women can volunteer.
390th Memorial Museum: Becoming a volunteer with the 390th Memorial Museum means an opportunity to educate the public on one of the biggest history events, World War II and its impact on existing generations. Volunteer opportunities include visitor interaction on an educational basis but may also include working hands-on with elements of history in book, document and photo archives.
Host an exchange student: CCI Greenheart, a nonprofit student exchange group, is looking for volunteer families to host exchange students for the 2014-15 school year. Each year CCI Greenheart provides more than 800 exchange students from over 60 countries with the opportunity to study in local public high schools for a five-month semester or a 10-month academic high school year.
