IT support: Trusty Macs support a meditation and retreat center and the public outreach of its nonprofit publications, including Light of Consciousness magazine. The only requirement is a working knowledge of Mac OSX and basic networking. The volunteer needs to be available by phone or email for questions, with in-depth, on-site help needed at times.
Reading Seed book-cleaning volunteer: To ensure every child has access to free books, the nonprofit hopes to distribute 40,000 children’s books to students, teachers, schools and community groups during this school year. Each used book must be cleaned. Groups welcome. Must be 14 or older to volunteer without a parent.
Administrative assistant: A nonprofit needs an organized, enthusiastic person to handle correspondence, coordinate international shipments, help the executive director and organize events such as fundraisers.
Support group facilitator: Aid peer support groups for children and adults affected by serious illness or grief. Provide comfort through “talking circle” activities. Need to be 18 and pass background check.
