IT support: Trusty Macs support a meditation and retreat center as well as the public outreach of its nonprofit publications. The only requirement for this volunteer opportunity is an excellent working knowledge of Mac OS X and basic networking. The volunteer needs to be available by phone or email for questions.
Reading Seed book cleaning volunteer: Kids need books to learn to read, and Reading Seed is working hard to make sure every child in our community has access to free books. The nonprofit hopes to distribute 40,000 children’s books during this school year. Must be 14 years old and up to volunteer without a parent.
Administrative assistant: A nonprofit needs an organized and enthusiastic person to handle routine correspondence, coordinate international shipments, help the executive director and organize special events such as fundraisers.
Support group facilitator: Facilitate peer support groups for children, teens and adults whose lives have been affected by serious illness or grief. Provide comfort and support through structured “talking circle” questions and activities. Volunteer applicants should be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
