Browse hundreds of volunteer opportunities on the Volunteer Center at United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona's website at www.volunteersoaz.org or call for assistance at 903-3949.

Front office assistant: A nonprofit agency that provides affordable, used medical equipment to patients needs help with answering phones, explaining services to patients and families, assisting clients, monitoring equipment inventory, filing paperwork and more. Basic computer skills and retail experience are helpful. Volunteers must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Culinary club adviser: The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is looking for adult advisers (over 25 years old) for its Culinary Club. Volunteers help chaperone, drive, lead meetings, supervise youth, provide advice and assist chefs as needed.

Workplace campaign manager: Enhance your leadership, public speaking and team-building skills by being an advocate for a nonprofit organization. Assist with campaign fundraising 3 to 5 hours a week for a limited time. This is a great opportunity for retirees, college students and professionals not currently working. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license, transportation and current auto insurance.

Bird and Wildlife Festival: It's coming to Tucson in mid-August, and there are many ways to help: Assist with setup, free talks, family activities, registration, workshops, field trips, check-in, evening programs and more.
