Clean books for kids: Reading Seed is working hard to make sure every child in our community has access to free books so the children can learn to read.
The group hopes to give 40,000 children’s books to students, teachers, schools and community organizations this school year. Each used book must be cleaned by a volunteer.
Help a greyhound: Have you thought about getting a greyhound but you’re not sure if you are ready to adopt one? Consider fostering. Greyhounds fresh off the track have no house experience, but you can help one blossom with your one-on-one nurturing.
House volunteers: Represent the Ronald McDonald House and help keep it organized and clean.
Duties may include answering phones, greeting families, making up rooms, organizing kitchens and playrooms, and helping with special projects.
Kitty Kat Construction Crew: A local shelter is looking for energetic and hardworking volunteers to help with remodeling projects this summer.
Volunteers who have basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, landscaping or electrical skills are welcome, along with anyone who is willing to learn.
