Connection specialist: Here's an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people in an office environment, has an upbeat, professional and welcoming personality and wants to use general office skills, including Excel, Word and Internet navigation. This opportunity has flexible shifts available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Support group facilitator: Facilitators are needed for peer-support groups for children and teens affected by serious illness or death. No experience is necessary. Volunteers must be at least 18 and able to pass a background check and attend a one-day training.
Reception assistant: A receptionist is needed to meet and greet people, answer phones and take messages in a youth-related nonprofit office. There are two shifts, mornings and afternoons, Mondays through Fridays. A background check is required, and training is provided.
Employment-assistance aide: Help unemployed and underemployed job-seekers at a northwest-side resource center write résumés and cover letters, apply for jobs and develop good interviewing skills. Training is provided. Shifts are 2-5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
