Golder Ranch chief honored

Golder Ranch Fire Chief Randy Karrer has been named Fire Chief of the Year in Arizona.

He was presented with the award Tuesday in Glendale at an annual conference of the Arizona Fire Chiefs Association, Battalion Chief Josh Hurguy, spokesman for the Golder Ranch Fire District, said in a news release.

Fire Chief of the Year is chosen by members of the association.

Karrer joined Golder Ranch Fire in 2009.
