Today's planned Pima County Bond Advisory Committee meeting has been canceled because county officials failed to post a public meeting notice on time.

State law requires public meeting notices to be posted at least 24 hours before the start of the meeting. Any meeting held without the required notice would violate the state Open Meetings Law.

County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry apologized for the inconvenience and said steps have been taken to ensure the failure is not repeated.

Huckelberry said the meeting will be rescheduled. No date has been set, but he anticipated it will probably be within five to eight days.

The committee was expected to review dozens of proposed projects, totaling more than $650 million, for a future bond to be put on the November 2014 ballot.
