Tucson Republican Jim Brown filed candidate paperwork to run for Congress in District 1.

Brown, a retired businessman, announced his candidacy in September.

Brown will face State House Speaker Andy Tobin, state Rep. Adam Kwasman and rancher Gary Kiehne in the Republican primary in August.

The winner will challenge incumbent Democrat Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick. District 1 covers a large part of the state from northern Arizona to northern Pima County.
