The four Republican candidates for Congress in Arizona’s District 1 will debate in SaddleBrooke Wednesday.

Jim Brown, Gary Kiehne, Adam Kwasman and Andy Tobin all confirmed they plan to attend the primary debate, although Brown said he was not informed of the event.

The debate, hosted by the SaddleBrooke Republican Club, begins at 4:15 p.m. at the Mountain View Country Club, 38759 S. Mountain View Blvd. Doors open at 3:30 p.m., according to the club’s website.

The winner of the August primary will challenge incumbent Ann Kirkpatrick, who has become a top target of the Republican Party.

District 1 covers a vast area, including Oro Valley, Marana and Catalina in Pima County and parts of 10 other counties.

The most recent voter registration numbers show 38 percent of voters in the district are Democrats, 30 percent are Republicans, and 31 percent are independent.
