The six candidates seeking office in Oro Valley’s town leadership will debate this week. Here’s what you need to know.

Who: Mayoral candidates Satish Hiremath and Patrick Straney and Town Council candidates Donald Bristow, Joe Hornat, Mary Snider and Lou Waters. 

Where: OV Public Library, 1305 W. Naranja Drive. 

When: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Doors open at 5 p.m. 

Host: Northwest Conservatives, a nonprofit politics club 

Topics: Town residents submitted the questions. One hot topic is sure to be the police budget, which was the subject of a Council feud earlier this year.

The election: Early voting begins July 31. About 70 percent of Oro Valley’s registered voters receive mail-in ballots. The races are likely to be settled on primary election day, Aug. 26.
