Residents integral to the region's historic-preservation efforts will be feted Saturday during the annual Historic Preservation Awards Ceremony.

The event is hosted by the Tucson-Pima County Historical Commission and the Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation.

Start time is 9 a.m. at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave.

Awards are divided into three categories:

• The Alene Dunlap Smith and Paul Smith Award - For demonstrating a long-term commitment toward historic preservation.

• The Historic Preservation Award - For contributions having had a significant impact at the community level.

• The Heritage Award - For volunteering time and effort on local history or preservation projects, undertaking rehabilitation of their own historic property, or completing a National Register nomination of their own building.
