Sign up for sessions

on Medicare coverage

The Pima Council on Aging is sponsoring several upcoming sessions for people who want to know more about Medicare Open Enrollment for coverage in 2014.

This year’s open enrollment began Oct. 15 and goes through Dec. 7. Officials stress that Medicare open enrollment has no connection to the health marketplaces that are enrolling people in health insurance through President Obama’s new health law. People on Medicare do not need to use those marketplaces.

The sessions will give people information about original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Health Plans and Medicare Prescription drug plans.

Anyone who already has Medicare and likes their plan does not need to worry about open enrollment. But people who are confused about coverage options, about Medicare in general or those who want to switch plans are urged to attend.

Those wishing to attend may register online at www.pcoa.org with a secured link for credit-card transactions, or download the brochure to complete and mail with your check.

Checks should be payable to: Pima Council on Aging (must be received one week before event date). Send $5 per person check or money order with the registration form to: TMC Senior Services, P.O. Box 42195, Tucson, AZ 85775-3317. The $5 cost includes registration and 2014 information packet.

For information, call 324-3745.
