KGUN Channel 9 has hired Stella Inger as its new anchor. She replaces Jennifer Waddell, who left KGUN Sept. 6 to become a morning anchor in Nashville, Tenn.

Inger will co-anchor the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. broadcasts. She’ll team with station stalwart Guy Atchley.

“We are extremely pleased to have Stella join our team,” Jim Arnold, KGUN9 vice president and general manager, said in a news release. “She’s an experienced anchor and on-the-street-journalist. Stella will bring leadership and a fresh perspective to our newsroom. I look forward to having her help us continue to serve the viewers in Southern Arizona.”

KGUN hired Inger away from KTVK in Phoenix, where she co-anchored “Good Morning Arizona.” She will start at KGUN Oct. 29.
