A Tucson man suspected of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend has been arrested after a high-speed, cross-town police chase.

Ozziel Ramirez, 20, was arrested at about 1:30 p.m. today near Ryan Airfield about 10 miles southwest of Tucson.

He is suspected of kidnapping a 23-year-old woman at about 8 p.m. Thursday. The victim was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle that pulled into the Quickmart located at 5642 S. Alvernon Way near East Drexel Road, Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said.

According to a witness, Ramirez “blocked their vehicle in with his vehicle, preventing them from leaving the parking lot,” Widmer said. Ramirez got out of his dark blue 2006 Audi sedan “with a rag over his hand and implied he had a gun." He then ordered the victim out of the vehicle and into his car, Widmer said.
