Repairs to Sahuarita Lake’s leaky walls could cost the town at least $227,000, according to a consultant’s estimate.

The man-made, 12-year-old lake has cracks and holes, and the water level has been kept low since early summer so inspectors could spot problem areas.

At its Oct. 28 meeting the Town Council will hear about the extent of the problem and talk through repair options, which include patches, coatings or a new liner or wall, said Sahuarita Parks and Recreation Director Debbie Summers.

The town budgeted about $250,000 for the repairs and already has spent $24,500 on engineering consultation.
