On Wednesday, William "Billy" Warneke's remains will be transported to Marana for an outdoor service. If you would like to follow along, here is the relevant information:

  • What: A National Guard helicopter will bring Warneke's remains from Prescott to Marana Northwest Regional Airport, 11700 W. Avra Valley Road, at 2:15 p.m. today. The casket will be transferred to a Prescott Fire Department engine, which will lead a 3:15 p.m. procession to the Marana Mortuary & Cemetery, 12146 W. Barnett Road.
  • Services: 4 p.m. outdoors at Marana Mortuary & Cemetery. The public is encouraged to view the procession and pay final respects along the route to the mortuary because space is limited for the services.

"As unbelievable as it is to even fathom ... the day will come when the memory of your husband, your son, or your dad or your brother will bring a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eye. My prayer for all of you is that that day will come sooner than later, but I promise you as unbelievable as it is, it will come."

Vice President Joe Biden speaking at the memorial service held in Prescott Valley on Tuesday.
