A 45-year-old man died Wednesday from injuries he sustained after he was struck by a car last week near East Grant and North Swan roads, police said.

Eddie Sagastume was crossing the street just after 8 p.m. Friday night at Grant and North Arcadia Avenue when he was hit by a 2001 Oldsmobile traveling eastbound, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman

Sagastume was taken to the hospital, where he remained until he was pronounced dead Wednesday, Widmer said in a news release.

The area near Grant and Arcadia was lit with street lamps and there is a marked crosswalk at the intersection.

Tucson Police are still investigating the collision.
