The Sunnyside school board has entered an executive session to discuss a possible buyout of Superintendent Manuel Isquierdo's contract.

President Eva Carrillo Dong, clerk Louie Gonzales and members Buck Crouch, Daniel Hernandez and Bobby Garcia are present at the meeting.

The meeting agenda, posted online Friday, says the executive session will include discussion about Isquierdo's employment, legal advice from the district's attorney regarding his employment, instructions to attorneys and a "possible adoption of a 'Termination of Employment & Settlement Agreement' concerning the superintendent."

About two weeks ago, Isquierdo asked the board to consider buying him out of his contract at a special meeting. Last week he told the board he did not want to be bought out. With two years remaining on his contract, a buyout would cost the district more than $526,000.
