Here's a listing of Memorial Day events in the Tucson area:

TODAY

• American Legion Auxiliary Oro Valley Unit 132 will distribute remembrance poppies from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday-Sunday at Walmart at Oro Valley Marketplace, 2150 E. Tangerine Road; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Fry's, 10661 N. Oracle Road. They are free, but donations will be accepted. 229-1064.

• Mountain View Retirement Village, 7900 N. La Cañada Drive, will unveil a Veterans Honor Wall today. The wall features framed photographs of Mountain View employees, residents and their family members in uniform. The public can view the wall starting at 3 p.m. 229-3350.

SATURDAY

• "Bridge on the River Kwai" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Tucson Theatre, 17 W. Congress St. Tickets are $7; discounts are available for military-service members, seniors and students. 547-3040.

MONDAY

• "A Hero's Salute," a tribute by Arts Express, will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Monday at the University of Arizona's Crowder Hall, 1017 E. Olive Road. $5 suggested donation. 319-0400.

• A Memorial Day parade and ceremony will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Tucson Estates, 5900 W. Western Way Circle. The event is sponsored by American Legion Post 102, American Veterans Post 770 and the Tucson Estates Property Owners Association. 908-0774.

• A Memorial Day ceremony will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at McCulloch-Wagner American Legion Post 109, 15921 S. Houghton Road, Corona de Tucson. 762-5652.

• East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road, will have a Memorial Day ceremony starting at 9 a.m. Monday. 886-5561.

• Evergreen Mortuary, Cemetery and Crematory, 3015 N. Oracle Road, will present its annual Memorial Day observance at 9 a.m. Monday. Enter the cemetery at the Fort Lowell Road entrance and drive west into the cemetery. Free hot dogs, soft drinks and water will be provided from 10 to 11:30 a.m. 888-7470.

• Fort Huachuca will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Post Cemetery (ask for directions at the Main Gate). The event is free and open to the public. Cemetery parking is limited; shuttle buses to the ceremony will run from 10 to 11 a.m..

• Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery, 18751 S. La Cañada Drive in Sahuarita, will conduct a Memorial Day ceremony at 9 a.m. Monday. 625-7400.

• The Purple Heart Park Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the park, 10050 E. Rita Road.

• South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave., will have a Memorial Day ceremony 9 a.m. Monday. 295-8407.

• The Arizona Air National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing at Tucson International Airport is scheduled to conduct F-16 flyovers Monday of the following sites and ceremonies.

• 9:04 a.m., Veterans Memorial Park at Tucson Estates

• 9:15 a.m. at Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery

• 10 a.m., Purple Heart Park in Rita Ranch

• 10:05 a.m., McCulloch Wagner American Legion Post 109 in Corona de Tucson

Wednesday

• The Department of Veterans Affairs Southern Arizona VA Health Care System is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium in Building 4 at the VA, 3601 S. Sixth Ave. Refreshments will be provided. Enter using the Sixth Avenue gate. Park in parking lot "Q." 629-1822.
