The Mission Branch Library will shut its doors for a couple of days later this month to spruce up the place.

The library, at 3770 S. Mission Road, will be closed Aug. 23-24 for an interior repainting.

Tucson Electric Power, along with Home Depot and Behr Paint, donated the supplies and recruited volunteers to perform the work.

“A simple thing like freshening up a building with a brand new coat of paint makes a huge difference to our patrons who use that library every day,” Pima County Public Library Executive Director Melinda Cervantes said in a press release.

Although the library will be closed, the book drop will remain open. In addition, normal due dates won’t be enforced those two days.

The library will reopen on Aug. 25 at 10 a.m.
