Slick roads from showers and thunderstorms contributed to several crashes in both directions of travel of Interstate 10 between Tucson and Benson on Monday morning.
Ten crashes were reported on the stretch of I-10 roughly between South Houghton and Empirita roads, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Information on whether there were any serious injuries was not known.
A funnel cloud formed north of I-10 near Mescal around 12:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The wet weather is expected to continue the next couple of days, with isolated storms and a 70 percent chance of rain predicted today, according to the weather service.
Those odds decrease to 50 percent tonight and continue to decline through the week. Wednesday is predicted to warm up to 88 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain, and only a 10 percent chance of rain is expected Thursday and Friday.
