A 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday morning in a crash on Tucson's south side.

Ruben M. Reyeswas riding a 1995 Honda Shadow eastbound on Irvington Road.

 He cut in between a Ford van stopped at a red light at Benson Highway and a Hyundai Accent that was slowing as it approached the intersection, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson police spokesman.

Reyes hit the front of the car and was thrown into the rear of the van. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No one else was injured.
