Hole sponsorships and banquet tickets are still available for Interfaith Community Services’ annual “We Care” Golf Classic fundraiser to benefit ICS’ programs for seniors, disabled adults and families in financial crisis.
The Omni Tucson National Golf Resort will host the event on Dec. 7.
The resort, at 2727 W. Club Drive, was named one of Golf Digest’s “75 best golf resorts in North America.” The tournament is presented by Splendido at Rancho Vistoso.
The day begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. for play on the resort’s Sonoran course. Golfers and non-golfers alike can enjoy an Italian-themed banquet, awards presentation, raffle and silent auction.
A list of silent auction and raffle items is available at www.icstucson.org online. The hole-in-one prize is a golf car from Arizona Golf Cars.
“This is a great event for a great cause,” said ICS board member and Oro Valley Hospital Director of Nutrition Mike Mumford, who has chaired the last several tournaments and is doing so again this year.
“It’s a phenomenal time of the year to play golf at one of the community’s premier resorts. Players can enjoy a fun day on the course and know they are benefiting seniors, the disabled and disadvantaged families.”
Player slots are almost sold out; hole sponsorships are still available at $500. For more information, call ICS at 297-2738, Ext. 222.
Proceeds from player fees, banquet and raffle tickets and donations will help ICS continue providing basic services, including Mobile Meals and transportation to seniors as well as emergency food and financial and job-search assistance for individuals and families in crisis.
For example, $150 allows ICS to help 15 people with gas vouchers to go to work, $600 pays the electric bill for eight struggling households for a month, and $1,000 pays for 50 prescriptions for people with significant health issues who cannot afford their medications.
