A man arrested in connection with burglaries of two businesses in Oro Valley two months ago is now linked to 25 other cases on the northwest side, authorities said Tuesday.

The following account was given by Deputy Jesus Bañuelos, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesman:

Richard Thomas Houseman, 38, was arrested April 17 by Oro Valley police. He was booked into the Pima County jail on two counts of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools.

An investigation that began in January by deputies and Oro Valley and Marana police detectives has linked Houseman, through DNA, to additional burglaries of northwest-side businesses.

About $5,500 in cash was taken from medical offices and other businesses in January to April, and the businesses sustained more than $5,000 in damage because of the break-ins.
