You have until the end of the month to take advantage of a special adoption fee at the Pima Animal Care Center.

A special rate of $13 applies to adult cats and to all dogs at the center that weigh 40 pounds or more.

All other pets will be $50. All adopted animals leave with vaccinations, microchips and spay/neuter surgery.

The county-run shelter is open seven days a week - noon-7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. It's at 4000 N. Silverbell Road.

If you're interested in volunteering, fostering or adopting, check out the new Pima Animal Care Center page on Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Pima-Animal-Care/366924590093854?fref=ts
