The Pima Animal Care Center is offering an extra incentive to adopt a pet this month: Adoption fees are just $30, and special-needs pets, dogs in the shelter’s tent, and those who’ve been at the center for more than two weeks will have their adoption fees waived.

All adopters who choose a pet with an adoption fee will be able to participate in the April Showers Bring May Flowers promotion. Adopters will pick a flower from an umbrella and find an extra discount inside.

Puppies and dogs require an additional $15 licensing fee.

The county-run shelter, at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is open seven days a week — noon-7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, except the last Sunday of the month, when it is closed for deep cleaning.
