The Pima Animal Care Center - known as PACC - is packed with pets that need homes. And during the upcoming summer season it'll see even more, with an average of 85 animals a day coming in to the shelter.

Pima County offered some ways to help the situation at the center, which is at 4000 N. Silverbell Road.

1. Adopt a pet. All the pets featured here have been spayed or neutered and have had their shots. Be sure to ask about the reduced adoption prices on certain pets.

2. License your pet, so if it gets lost you can find it.

3. Donate money to PACC.

4. Volunteer. Two 45-minute open houses are scheduled for prospective volunteers, who walk, visit and care for pets at the center. The first open house will start at 5:30 p.m. April 25 at PACC, and the second will be held at 1 p.m. April 27. For more information about volunteering, call 243-5920.
