The Pima Animal Care Center’s ultimate goal is to adopt out the animals at the shelter, but it’s always looking for volunteers, fosters and dog walkers. To find out more about opportunities, check out the Pima Animal Care Center page on Facebook:

And if you are looking for a new friend the adoption fee this month is $30 for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, plus a $15 licensing fee for dogs.

There is no cost to adopt a special-needs pet, except the $15 dog-licensing fee when applicable. “Special needs” can describe anything from a dog who has kennel cough to a cat who needs dental care, or an animal who needs socialization skills.

The county-run shelter, at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is open seven days a week — noon-7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, except the last Sunday of the month.

About this feature

These photos and descriptions of animals up for adoption at the Pima Animal Care Center are submitted by PACC Pets, a volunteer group. All the pets featured here have been spayed or neutered and have had their shots.

Be sure to bring the pet ID number listed with the animal if you go to the PACC to see a particular cat or dog. Ask about reduced adoption prices on certain pets.
