The Pima Animal Care Center has extended its $9 adoption special through August, so all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will have just a $9 adoption fee (plus $15 license for dogs).

Also this Saturday PACC will host its first-ever PACC Pride celebration. In an effort to engage the LGBT community in helping save more pets than ever before, PACC will have free adoptions all weekend and lineup of special events from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday. There will be drag and pet shows, food trucks, music, games, prizes and more.

The county-run shelter, at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is open seven days a week — noon-7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, except the last Sunday of the month, when it is closed for deep cleaning.

If you’re interested in volunteering, fostering or adopting, check out the Pima Animal Care Center page on Facebook:
