The Pima Animal Care Center, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is always looking for volunteer adoption counselors and dog walkers.

If you'd like to volunteer, you may attend a regularly scheduled open house; call volunteer coordinator José Ocaño at 243-5920 for more information.

The county-run shelter is open seven days a week - noon-7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

If you're looking to adopt a pet, be sure to ask about August adoption specials.

All the pets featured here have been spayed/neutered and have had their shots.

Take the pet ID number listed with the animal if you go to PACC to see a particular cat or dog.

The photos and descriptions of animals up for adoption at the Pima Animal Care Center are submitted by PACC Pets, a volunteer group.

For more information go to www.pimaanimalcare.org or call 243-5900.
