Meet live birds and find out about their adaptations to life in the Sonoran desert during a free presentation from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Woods Memorial Library, 3455 N. First Ave. Space is limited for the program, which is presented by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, and tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program. 594-5445.

2. Through June 11

An art show that opened Wednesday in the lobby at The Fountains at La Cholla, 2001 W. Rudasill Road, features the works of approximately 25 artists in residence. Works include oil and watercolor paintings, quilts, crocheting, needlepoint, knitting, sculpture, woodwork, clay and silver jewelry. A public closing reception honoring the artists will be held June 11 from 3 to 4 p.m. and feature champagne and music by harpist Christine Vivona. Free. 797-2001.

3. June 7

Key Ingredients of African Soul will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Crossroads at Silverbell Park, 7548 N. Silverbell Road. Bring your own chair or blanket. The show is part of the Marana Concert Series. Free. 797-3959.
