1. Friday

Got a yen for yarn? Friday Fun Knitters meet at 10 a.m. Fridays at the Foothills Mall, 7401 N. La Cholla Blvd. Knitters of any skill level are welcome at the gatherings, which are free. 293-0781.

2. Saturday

The Fifth Annual CCC Recognition Day at Saguaro National Park West, 2700 N. Kinney Road, will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include appearances by Civilian Conservation Corps historians, displays of newspapers, photos and memorabilia, and book signings, guest speakers and documentaries. Free. 733-5158.

3. Saturday

Kids ages 6 and older will learn how to illustrate a cartoon during a free lesson by artist Siva Navas starting at 1 p.m. at Bookmans, 3733 W. Ina Road. Free. 579-0303.

4. April 5

Citizens for Picture Rocks volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. to clean up roadside litter as part of Pima County’s Adopt-A-Roadway program. The group provides safety vests, tools and lunch for volunteers and will meet at the Picture Rocks Community Center, 5615 N. Sanders Road. Volunteers age 14 and older are welcome. 5. April 12 and 13

Bluegrass guitarist Dan Crary will headline the 2014 Marana Bluegrass Festival, which runs 9:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 12 and 13 at Ora Mae Harn Park, 13250 N. Lon Adams Road. It’s $12 for a single-day pass and $20 for a weekend pass. Go to www.maranafestival.com for info.
