1927: The first commercial flight lands at Davis-Monthan Airfield. Tucson becomes the terminal of the first daily air passenger service from Los Angeles to southern Arizona.

1953: The first televised University of Arizona football game is broadcast statewide, when the Wildcats beat the Arizona State Sun Devils, 35-0, in Tempe.
