The newly combined Marana-Foothills Optimist Club, with the assistance of a grant from the Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation, is donating $1,000 to buy pole vault poles for the Marana High School track team. Representatives will make a check presentation to coaches Martin Honea and Camron Dozier on Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. at the Marana High School track.

The Foothills Optimist Club has a history of providing support to Marana causes — members have donated money to purchase passes for the Marana pool for eight years.
