A man was killed when the Pima County Sheriff's Department says he crashed a car into a wall that runs along East Skyline Drive after running a stop sign at North Alvernon Way.

A 21-year-old man was killed Sunday night when he slammed the car he was driving into the wall in the Catalina Foothills, officials say.

The driver was headed south on North Alvernon Way when deputies say he ran a stop sign at East Skyline Drive, crashing into a wall that run parallel to Skyline, Deputy Jesus Banuelos said in a news release.

The driver died at University of Arizona Medical Center. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The name of the driver had not been made public Monday morning.
