The show - or in this case, the conference - must go on.

That's how the Rev. William O. Wills Jr. would have liked it. Wills founded the Racial Reconciliation Community Outreach Network, which will hold its 27th annual conference starting Thursday.

Today, though, friends and family will gather for a celebration of Wills' life starting with a viewing at 10 a.m. at Pantano Christian Church, 1755 S. Houghton Road. The celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m.

Wills, born July 5, 1954, in San Antonio, died May 26.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the network's conference, a collaboration of several churches, ministries and other organizations.

The first two days of the conference will be held at the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 710 S. Kolb Road.

The conference will start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with a processional and keynote speaker, the Rev. Isaac Martinez of Centro Familiar Fuente Devida of Tucson, and entertainment by the Matsiko World Orphans Choir.

The conference continues at 7:30 p.m. Friday with a fine arts festival and more entertainment by the orphan choir.

The conference will move to the Tucson Sheraton Hotel and Suites, 5151 E. Grant Road, Saturday, with workshops from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring John P. Perkins, president and CEO of the Spencer Perkins Center of Mississippi; and Barbara Patterson, executive director of Team Tucson.

A banquet and awards ceremony will wind up events at 6 p.m.

For information, call Martha T. Wills at 790-0866.
