All Star subscribers now have access to a digital replica of the printed newspaper. In other words, you can use your smartphone, computer or tablet to view the Star exactly as it appears in print.
If you favor the format and organization of the printed newspaper, the e-Newspaper is the best way to read the Star when you are away from home.
The e-Newspaper is included in the Star’s new full-access subscription model. Full-access means you receive the printed newspaper as you always have plus all of the Star’s digital content — the website and smartphone and tablet apps.
If you haven’t already taken advantage of the benefits of your full-access subscription, please do so today by activating your account. The following information should ease the way.
So how do I activate my account?
You have several options, but let’s start with the one that is easiest for most people.
Go to tucson.com and click on the big blue “activate your full access” button on the right. The form that pops up will ask for two pieces of information: the ZIP code where your printed paper is delivered and the telephone number you provided when you subscribed to the Star.
It’s understandable if you don’t remember the telephone number; many of us move and change numbers. If you do not know the number linked to your account, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call customer service at 1-800-695-4492 for assistance.I already have your smartphone app. Can I activate on my phone?
Absolutely. Click on a story in a section that shows an image of a padlock. A box will pop up on the screen. It will give you the option to log in or to activate. Select activate. Activation is a one-time action that will give you access on not only your phone but also on your computer or tablet.I already have your tablet app. Can I activate on my tablet?
Not at this time, but we are working to make that available.I have more questions and need help with activation. What should I do?
Email your questions to email@example.com
Or call customer service at 1-800-695-4492 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday – Friday; 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday; and 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday. From the menu of options, say that you are calling for “help with our digital product.”
Tell me more about the e-Newspaper.
The main benefit is that you can read the Star when you are away from home, but the e-Newspaper even has a few features that you may want to use every day, including:
- A 30-day archive of past editions.
- “Enotify,” which sends an email whenever a story appears in the Star containing keywords you’ve chosen. Keywords could be the name of a person, place or topic that interests you.
- “Listen,” which reads the Star aloud.
All of those features are available when you read the e-Newspaper in a Web browser such as Chrome or Safari.
There are also e-Newspaper apps for tablets and phones. While they don’t include the features described above, they do include one important advantage: The Star can be downloaded for offline viewing. That means you won’t use up your device’s data allowance. If you have an Apple device, tap the App Store and search for Arizona Daily Star. If you have an Android device, open the Play Store and search for Arizona Daily Star. You will see several Star apps. The one for the e-Newspaper has an image of the letter “A” in an Old English font.
