A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the illegal killing of a javelina on Tucson’s northwest side.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department said the javelina died from arrow wounds shortly after being found Saturday morning near West El Camino del Cerro and Placita del Monte.
It appears the javelina was shot with an arrow tip that is more commonly used for target practice, not hunting, according to the wildlife agency.
The agency said it’s likely the animal was targeted because it was a nuisance.
