The teenage boy driving this car was killed when the vehicle hit a wall on the Twin Peaks Road bridge over Interstate 10 on Wednesday afternoon. A passenger in the car was seriously hurt.

A 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the University of Arizona Medical Center after the car he was driving crashed into a wall on the Twin Peaks Road off-ramp west of Interstate 10.

He was not wearing his seat belt, said Capt. Adam Goldberg, a Northwest Fire District spokesman.

Another 17-year-old, a passenger in the car who was wearing his seat belt, had serious injuries but was in stable condition, Goldberg said.

Police are investigating what caused the boy to lose control of the car and hit the wall head-on.
