The streak is over.

Tucson fell short of breaking the record for consecutive days of triple digit heat today when the high got no higher than 96 degrees.

It was in the high 80s by 4 p.m. at Tucson International Airport, according the National Weather Service website.

On Tuesday Tucson tied the 39-day record matched in both 2005 and 1987.

At least we have one weather record to talk about to mark the summer of 2013: June was the hottest on record.
