A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting last month at a house party near the UA campus, police said.
Bernard Deshon Rayford was arrested Friday on Tucson’s south side by police and U.S. marshals, said Sgt. Pete Dugan in a news release.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated assault, Dugan said.
In the shooting early Oct. 25, a gunman opened fire on party-goers after he and three companions were told to leave a house party in the 1600 block of North Highland Avenue that they tried to crash. Peter Ortiz, 25, was killed and another person was wounded.
Dugan said investigators continue to look for other involved in the attack. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME, the anonymous tipster line.
