Tucson police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a woman wanted for the theft of a handgun from a pawn shop in midtown last week.

The woman was captured on surveillance camera footage at Quick Trip Pawn, 1110 W. Prince Road, shortly after 2 p.m. last Thursday.

She had asked an employee to see a handgun for sale and when handed the weapon, ran out of the shop with a male partner, according to a news release from the Tucson Police Department.

An employee ran after the two suspects and caught up with the female, but was struck in the head by the male with an unidentified object, the release said.

Both suspects fled the scene. The employee suffered minor injuries.

The male, 33-year-old Daniel Dionte Moore, was located at the Pima County Jail over the weekend where he had been booked by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on an unrelated charge, the release said.

The woman has not been identified, but TPD hopes the surveillance camera image above will lead to her arrest.

Anyone with information on the woman’s whereabouts should call 911 or 88-CRIME.

TPD requests that you do not approach.
